Mei Chien is a registered Clinical Psychologist with more than nine years of experience, including educational training in working in the government hospital, psychiatric clinics, and private settings. She also has experience spearheading the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to provide consultation and coaching sessions to employees, team leaders, and managers. In other words, she has experience working with people from all walks of life (ranging from children to adults) with different ethnicity and mental health concerns by providing them with psychosocial support, consultation, psychotherapy, psychological assessment, training, and workshops.
Mei Chien's training background is more in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), so she usually starts with this approach. But along the way of her professional development, she has also learned and utilized other approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), art therapy, humanistic and existential approaches, and mindfulness, whichever she deemed fit her client's needs. Having worked in this helping profession for a few years, she firmly believe that everyone is unique in their life experience and story. By allowing them to express their stories or experiences and discover their strengths in the therapy, it helps them in creating their own meanings they want in their journey of recovery.
As a mental health expert, she understands that it is essential to have proper self-care to reach a work-life balance. During her off days, she likes doing yoga, watching movies, and chit-chatting with close friends. But, the most favorite thing is traveling.
